Honoring Your Lineage (Day of the Dead Affirmations)

Hi Beauty,

I’m writing you from Mexico on The Day of the Dead.

And today I’m thinking of my own father who passed away this week, 32 years ago.

This holiday means a lot to me, as it’s a time to celebrate those who have passed who we still hold close in our hearts.

It’s also a reclamation: honoring the time we had with them, and feeling their presence still.

Perhaps there’s someone you’ve lost…or a connection to someone in your lineage who is no longer with us.

This is a great time to get in touch with the magic of the time you shared, what you loved about them, and to remember how they would want you to LIVE.

I’ve worked hard to change the meaning of this day because for the longest time I was stuck in guilt and shame, feeling bad about moving on after my parents’ deaths.

What set me free was realizing that they wanted me to go on to live, and to create my best life in their honor.

I encourage you to reclaim this time, especially if it’s hard for you.

Infuse new life, breathe new energy, and make it special.

You can practice the affirmations above, and I’d love to hear if you’re celebrating or thinking of someone today.

Hit reply to this email and let me know.

Sending you so much love,
