Does practicing gratitude actually do anything?? Learn the science inside.

Hello my Gorgeous Magical Friend!

Practicing gratitude has become a buzzword or, in this case, "buzz phrase" found all over the place online, in countless memes, and in every self-help book known to man.

But do you really know what it is, how to do it, and what it does in your life?

In this blog, you will learn all the science behind the practice of gratitude and why it is something that can 100% enhance your life, happiness, and even your health, in miraculous ways.

The word β€œgratitude” has a number of different meanings, however, a practical definition is: The appreciation of what is valuable and meaningful to oneself; it is a general state of thankfulness and/or appreciation.

1.    Many studies have shown that consciously focusing on your blessings, rather than what you lack, can have both emotional and interpersonal benefits. One study found that having a grateful outlook not only improves well-being but it also creates a more positive mood.

2.    A scientist who studied over 1,000 people from ages 8 to 80 found that simply keeping a gratitude journal can have a positive impact on many areas of life with subjects consistently reporting the following benefits:

Physical

β€’    Stronger immune systems
β€’    Less bothered by aches and pains
β€’    Lower blood pressure
β€’    Exercise more and take better care of their health
β€’    Sleep longer and feel more refreshed upon waking

Psychological
β€’    Higher levels of positive emotions
β€’    More alert, alive, and awake
β€’    More joy and pleasure
β€’    More optimism and happiness

Social
β€’    More helpful, generous, and compassionate
β€’    More forgiving
β€’    More outgoing
β€’    Feel less lonely and isolated

Pretty freaking cool right???

To receive the benefits listed above, all you have to do is count 5-10 things you are grateful for once or twice a day. You can do this in a digital notepad or voice memo app on your phone, or you can write them out by hand in a journal.

Do this consistently and you will see amazing results.

One thing that always goes on my list is YOU. So deeply grateful for you and this community.

Hope you have an incredibly grateful day!

Much Love,

Steph
